In the city of Eindhoven the realization of the first of five planned 3D-printed concrete houses will start this year. The project, called Project Milestone, is a world’s first, as the houses will all be occupied. The six parties involved showed the design today.

"The space station is the only laboratory where we can fully test this technology in space.”

In China in order to handle the ongoing 2019-20 coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19), isolation wards, hospitals and medical devices were built in a very short time. Several technologies were used, including additive manufacturing.

Unlike fused deposition 3d printing technologies (FFF, FFD,FDM) where 3d printed items are made using thermal plastics in form of pellets of filaments extruded trough one or more hot nozzles, resin 3d printers (SLA, DLP, LED/LCD, LFS) use light-reactive thermoset liquid materials called “resins” to create the 3d printed layers.

Once in a great while, a technology emerges that has the potential to revolutionize the world as we know it. Even less frequent is the opportunity for the general public to invest in such a technology. The advent of 3D printing brings with it an opportunity to invest in an advancement that is as monumental as the cotton gin and the Internet.
